Airalo LatamLink Price List

Budget Seniors, September 28, 2026September 28, 2026
U.S. Travelers Β· Mexico Β· Central & South America Β· iPhone & Android Β· Data-Only eSIM

LatamLink is Airalo’s single eSIM for 17 Latin American countries. The app lists 17 separate packages, and the cheapest-looking one is rarely the best deal. Below is the full current price ladder, the cost per gigabyte and per day worked out for you, how it stacks up against paying your U.S. carrier’s daily roaming fee, and the traps β€” auto-renewals, uncovered islands, and a U.S. line that quietly racks up charges β€” that catch first-time eSIM users.

The short answer LatamLink fixed-data plans run from $7 (1 GB, 3 days) to $49 (20 GB, 30 days). “Unlimited” plans run from $19.50 for 3 days to $97 for 30 days, but they give 3 GB of full-speed data per day and then slow to about 1 Mbps. For most two-week trips, the 20 GB / 30-day plan at $49 is the best value β€” it costs less than five days of Verizon or AT&T’s roughly $12-a-day international pass. It’s data only: no phone number, no regular texts.

Key Answers Before You Buy

These are the questions that decide whether LatamLink saves you money or costs you more than it should.

1What’s the cheapest LatamLink plan?

The 1 GB plan for 3 days at $7. It’s enough for maps, a few WhatsApp check-ins, and email on a short cruise-port stop or a long weekend β€” but at $7 per gigabyte it’s also the worst value on the list. Moving up to 5 GB for 7 days costs $18, about half the price per gigabyte.

2Is the “Unlimited” plan really unlimited?

No. You get 3 GB per day at full speed. After that, the connection drops to about 1 Mbps until the next day starts. At that speed, messaging and maps still work, but video calls stutter and photo backups crawl. Unless you use more than 3 GB every single day, a large fixed-data plan is usually cheaper.

3Does it come with a phone number?

No. Every LatamLink plan is data only. You can’t receive regular calls or bank verification texts on it. Calls and messages go through apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime, or Google Voice over the data connection. Your U.S. number can stay on your phone as a second line for texts, but see the warning below about roaming charges.

4Which countries are included?

Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela. Not included: the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Belize, Haiti, Cuba, Jamaica, and most Caribbean islands β€” a common gap for cruise itineraries.

5Is it cheaper than Verizon or AT&T roaming?

For almost any trip longer than a few days, yes. Verizon TravelPass and AT&T International Day Pass cost about $12 per day in most Latin American countries. Ten days of that is roughly $120. LatamLink’s 10 GB / 15-day plan is $32, and the 10-day “Unlimited” plan is $49. Mexico is the exception β€” many U.S. plans already include it at no extra charge, so check yours first.

6What happens when my data runs out?

On a fixed plan, data simply stops. You can buy a top-up in the Airalo app on the same eSIM without reinstalling anything β€” but you’ll need Wi-Fi to do it. Airalo also offers automatic renewal when 10% of your data is left. That’s convenient, but it charges your card again, so decide whether you want it on before you leave.

7Will it work on my phone?

Your phone must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. Most iPhones from the XS onward and recent Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel models qualify. If you bought your phone on a payment plan from your carrier, it may still be locked β€” call them before the trip. Airalo’s app has a compatibility checker.

The Complete LatamLink Price List

Prices are in U.S. dollars as listed by Airalo. We worked out the cost per gigabyte and per day so you can compare plans that look nothing alike. When we priced these in the Airalo app, the same package often appeared at the same price for 15 and 30 days β€” a sign the longer plan is the smarter buy.

LatamLink vs. Paying Your U.S. Carrier to Roam

This is the comparison that actually matters for most American travelers. Carrier passes keep your normal number working, which has real value. You just pay a lot more for it.

Carrier daily rates vary by plan and country; AT&T caps charges at 10 days per bill cycle, which is why the 14-day range is shown. Confirm current rates with your carrier.

Find Your Situation

“We’re doing a two-week tour β€” Peru, then Chile and Argentina.”

This is exactly what LatamLink is built for: one eSIM, no swapping at borders. For two people who mostly use hotel Wi-Fi and want maps, WhatsApp, and photo sharing on the go, the 10 GB / 15-day plan at $32 each is plenty. If one of you tends to video-call the grandkids from the bus, step up to 20 GB / 30 days at $49 β€” it costs just $2 more than the 15-day version and gives you breathing room if your return flight slips.

πŸ’° 10 GB / 15 days β€” $32βœ… One eSIM crosses all three borders
“Our cruise stops in Mexico, Belize, and Honduras.”

Be careful here. Belize isn’t covered by LatamLink, and no land-based eSIM works while the ship is at sea β€” ships run their own maritime cell network that bills through your U.S. carrier at steep rates. Put your phone in airplane mode the moment you board, and use the ship’s Wi-Fi package on sea days. For port days in Mexico and Honduras, the 3 GB / 7-day plan at $14 covers you; for Belize, rely on port Wi-Fi or a separate eSIM.

“I kept my U.S. number on and got a $12 charge anyway.”

This is the most common surprise bill. On Verizon and AT&T, the daily pass can switch on the first time your U.S. line uses the foreign network in a day β€” including an incoming call. Having LatamLink installed doesn’t stop that. Before you land, go into your phone’s cellular settings, set LatamLink as the line for cellular data, and turn data roaming off on your U.S. line. For texts and calls to your U.S. number, turn on Wi-Fi Calling and use it only when connected to Wi-Fi. We found that setting this up at home, while you still have a U.S. signal to test with, takes about five minutes and saves a lot of worry.

βš™οΈ Data roaming OFF on U.S. lineπŸ“ž Wi-Fi Calling for your U.S. number
“We’re only going to CancΓΊn for a week.”

Check your U.S. plan before buying anything. Many T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T unlimited plans already include Mexico at no daily charge, and if yours does, LatamLink would only be a backup. If your plan doesn’t include Mexico, LatamLink works fine there, though a Mexico-only eSIM from Airalo is usually a little cheaper than the 17-country regional plan.

βœ… Check for free Mexico roaming firstπŸ’‘ Single-country eSIM may cost less
“My bank sends a code by text when I log in.”

LatamLink can’t receive those texts β€” it has no phone number. Your U.S. line can, as long as it’s switched on and reachable. Texts sent to your U.S. number usually arrive over Wi-Fi Calling on hotel or cafΓ© Wi-Fi. Before you travel, switch banks and credit cards to an authenticator app where they allow it, and tell your card company your travel dates so a purchase in Lima isn’t flagged as fraud.

πŸ” Switch to app-based codes before leavingπŸ“‹ Set travel notice on your cards
“I’m spending a month in Colombia, working a few hours a day.”

If you’ll video-call every day and don’t have reliable apartment Wi-Fi, the 30-day Unlimited plan at $97 keeps you from counting gigabytes. If your rental has good Wi-Fi and you only need mobile data while out, 20 GB for 30 days at $49 is roughly half the cost. You can always top up the same eSIM if you run low, so starting smaller is lower-risk than it sounds.

πŸ’» Unlimited 30 days β€” $97🏠 Good Wi-Fi? 20 GB β€” $49
“Can my wife use my data from her phone?”

Yes. LatamLink allows Personal Hotspot, and it simply draws from the same data pool. Two people sharing will burn through data roughly twice as fast, which is where the 20 GB plans earn their keep. If both phones support eSIM, buying two 10 GB plans instead is often just as cheap and means neither of you is tethered to the other while exploring.

Setting It Up Without the Stress

Most eSIM trouble happens because people try to install it at the airport on weak Wi-Fi. Do these at home, a day or two before you fly.

  1. 1
Confirm your phone is unlocked and supports eSIM. Call your carrier if you’re unsure β€” a locked phone won’t accept the LatamLink eSIM no matter how many times you try.
  2. 2
Buy and install the plan on home Wi-Fi. Install from the Airalo app or scan the QR code. Airalo lets you install before you leave; the plan only starts counting days once it connects to a network in a covered country.
  3. 3
Rename the lines. Label them “Home” and “LatamLink” in your cellular settings so you can tell them apart at a glance later.
  4. 4
Decide on auto-renewal. In the Airalo app, turn renewals on if you’d rather never run out, or off if you want a firm budget. Either is fine β€” just choose on purpose.
  5. 5
On landing, switch data to LatamLink and turn on data roaming for that line only. Leave data roaming off on your U.S. line. The regional eSIM needs roaming enabled to connect to local networks β€” that’s normal and doesn’t add charges.
