Yes. Premium subscribers can add a “3rd Screen” add-on for an additional monthly fee, bringing the total simultaneous streams to three. The sport library is the same on every paid plan. What changes is how many screens can be active at once and whether you get 4K on the big events.

You get every NRL game, every AFL match, Formula 1, cricket, the NBA, English Premier League and the rest of the 50+ sports library — all live, with replays and on-demand access to documentaries and talk shows. Picture quality goes up to HD (1080p), which looks sharp on most televisions. If only one person in your household watches Kayo at a time, there is no functional reason to pay $16 more per month for Premium. The price dropped by one cent to $29.99 in February 2026, sitting just below the psychological $30 barrier.
The plan for households where more than one person might be watching at the same time, or where picture quality genuinely matters. Two streams run concurrently — so one person can watch the footy while another follows the cricket, on separate devices, without either having to wait. 4K Ultra HD is available on selected events including NRL and AFL matches and Formula 1 coverage, which is a genuine upgrade if you have a 4K television and a decent internet connection. The 3rd Screen add-on (available for an extra monthly fee) extends this to a third device. At $45.99, the annual cost is over $550.
A no-cost section within the Kayo app and website offering a rotating selection of live sport, replays, entertainment shows and sports documentaries. You do not need an active paid subscription to access Freebies, though some content may require you to log in or create a free Kayo account. The selection is limited and unpredictable — it won’t cover live NRL or AFL finals, for example. It is mainly useful for sampling the Kayo experience before committing to a subscription, or for staying connected to sport during an off-season when you have paused your plan.
What Else to Know About the Bill
The monthly plan fee is straightforward. These are the other things worth checking before you sign up or cancel.
Apple and Google charge a platform fee for in-app purchases, and that cost is typically passed on to subscribers. You usually get the cheapest price by signing up directly on the Kayo website (kayo.com.au) rather than through an app store. The difference can be $2–$3 per month, which adds up over a year.
Find Your Situation
Standard at $29.99. Both plans cover every NRL and AFL game. If you’re watching on one TV by yourself or with someone in the same room, you don’t need two streams or 4K. Save the $16 difference each month — that’s $192 over the year.
You need Premium. Two simultaneous streams is the entire reason that tier exists. At $45.99 per month, you’re paying roughly $23 per person for access to every sport on the platform at the same time. Splitting that cost between two people makes it considerably easier to justify than paying it solo.
It depends on how much you care about picture quality. Kayo Premium offers 4K Ultra HD on selected events including NRL, AFL and F1 — not everything. If you have a large 4K screen in a well-lit room and sit close enough to notice the difference, the upgrade is genuine. On a smaller TV or from across the room, HD is hard to distinguish from 4K in practice.
No. There is no lock-in contract. You can cancel at the end of any billing month and resubscribe when the next season kicks off. You won’t lose any saved replays or account history by cancelling. Some subscribers pause in the off-season and return for the season opener, paying for nine or ten months rather than twelve. That saves $60–$90 per year on Standard.

Kayo retired the Basic tier in January 2024. Existing Basic subscribers were transitioned to the nearest equivalent plan at the time. The current lineup is simply Standard and Premium.
