If you already pay for YouTube TV, adding Sunday Ticket takes a few minutes. Deciding what to pay for it takes longer, because there isn’t one price. This season, YouTube is showing different members anywhere from about $119 to $378 for the same package through YouTube TV, depending on whether you’ve bought it before, whether you’re a student, a teacher, a veteran or a Best Buy member, and which email offer happened to land in your inbox.
This guide covers the steps, the full menu of current prices, and the details that matter more in late October than they did in August: it’s non-refundable, the price isn’t cut for the weeks you’ve already missed, monthly installments keep billing long after the Super Bowl, and canceling YouTube TV can take Sunday Ticket down with it. It also covers the situations that change the answer, from the in-market fan who shouldn’t buy it at all to the bar owner who legally can’t.
Ten Straight Answers for YouTube TV Members
These cover the questions in Google’s “People also ask” box and the ones fans ask after they’ve already bought. Details follow below.
Yes. It’s sold as an add-on to any active YouTube TV plan, and separately on regular YouTube through Primetime Channels for people without YouTube TV. Through YouTube TV it’s cheaper.
$378 for returning subscribers and $240 if you’ve never had it, on top of your monthly YouTube TV bill. Lower targeted offers of $204 to $336 have gone out to some members.
Plan on using a web browser. Sunday Ticket checkout has not been supported in YouTube’s Android and iPhone apps, so tv.youtube.com on a computer is the reliable route.
Not on the posted offers we checked. Season passes are priced for the season, not per remaining week. YouTube did halve prices midway through its first season in 2023, but that is not a promise for this one.
No. YouTube’s terms say current-season purchases are non-refundable and non-cancelable. You can only turn off auto-renewal for next season.
Yes, in up to 8 monthly payments with the first charged at purchase, except in Colorado, Maine, Utah, Wisconsin and U.S. territories. Installments can’t be canceled either.
Add the Sports Plus add-on for $10.99 a month at checkout or from YouTube TV settings. Some retail bundles price Sunday Ticket plus RedZone together for about $42 more.
Not through Sunday Ticket. Local CBS and Fox games are excluded, and you watch them on those channels in YouTube TV instead. Sunday Ticket is for out-of-market Sunday afternoon games.
You usually don’t need to. NFL Network, now owned by ESPN, comes with YouTube TV’s main plan. RedZone is the part that costs extra.
YouTube’s terms allow unlimited streams at home and 2 streams away from home. It’s licensed for residential use only; bars and restaurants need a commercial license.
Adding Sunday Ticket to an Existing YouTube TV Account, Step by Step
The process is short. The useful part is checking for a better offer before you click the final button, because the default price is often not the lowest one you qualify for.
- Open YouTube TV in a browserGo to tv.youtube.com on a computer and sign in with the Google account that pays for YouTube TV. If you share a family group, the family manager has to make the purchase.
- Check for verified discounts firstIf you’re a college student, teacher, active military, veteran, first responder or medical worker, start from YouTube’s Sunday Ticket deals page and verify through SheerID (students) or ID.me (the others). Those prices don’t appear unless you verify.
- Look in your emailSearch your inbox for “Sunday Ticket.” YouTube has emailed some members personalized prices, and a few reported seeing new offers after switching off auto-renewal. Use the link in an email only if it goes to youtube.com or tv.youtube.com.
- Open Settings → MembershipClick your profile picture, then Settings, then Membership. NFL Sunday Ticket appears among the add-ons with the price YouTube is offering your account.
- Choose full payment or installments, and decide on RedZonePick one upfront payment or up to 8 monthly payments, where available. Add RedZone through Sports Plus now if you want it, or later from Settings.
- Confirm, then check auto-renewalAfter purchase, go back to Membership and note whether the plan is set to renew next season. If you don’t want next year’s charge, turn it off now; it doesn’t affect this season.
Menu labels on YouTube TV change from time to time, but the purchase has always lived under the account’s membership settings. If you don’t see Sunday Ticket, check that you’re signed in as the family manager, that your home area is in a market where Sunday Ticket is sold, and that you’re in a browser rather than a TV app.
Every Sunday Ticket Price Being Offered Right Now
When we went through YouTube’s Sunday Ticket deals page and its offer terms on October 22, we counted more than a dozen price points for the same season. Here is the landscape, lowest to highest.
| Offer | Price | Who qualifies | Monthly option | Watch for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Student | $119 | Verified college students | Check at checkout | Individual use |
| Heroes (ID.me) | $198 | Military, veterans, teachers, first responders, medical | Check at checkout | Auto-renews at $198 |
| Member offer | $204 | Targeted members | 8 × $25.50 | Some require main plan |
| Best Buy | $234 | Plus/Total, or qualifying TV buyers | Varies | Through at least Oct 28 |
| Verizon | $234 | Existing Verizon customers | Varies | Renews at full retail |
| New user | $240 | Never had Sunday Ticket | 8 × $30 | One-time only |
| Returning standard | $378 | Past subscribers with YouTube TV | 8 × $47.25 | Highest YouTube TV price |
Several offers from earlier in the season have already expired: the YouTube Premium deal for new subscribers ended September 30, the Premium renewal discount on September 21, a Hard Rock rewards giveaway on October 16 and the Madden 27 bundle on October 17. An American Express cashback offer ended October 16. If an article still lists one of those, it was written before they expired.
One more combination is worth knowing if you don’t have YouTube TV yet in your household, for example a second home: YouTube has paired Sunday Ticket with its cheaper Sports + News plan for new YouTube TV members, recently advertised at $79.99 a month for five months and then $101.99 a month for three. That’s an all-in figure for both services, not Sunday Ticket alone.
Buying in the Middle of the Season: The Math Most Fans Miss
In August, Sunday Ticket is a season of football. By late October it’s still a season-priced product, but there’s less season left to watch.
The regular season opened on September 13 and its final Sunday is in early January. As of October 22, Week 7 is coming up, leaving roughly a dozen Sundays. YouTube’s season pass prices are not prorated in the offer terms we read, so buying now means paying the full figure for two-thirds of the slate. That doesn’t make it a bad buy, but it changes what each Sunday costs.
An 8-payment plan bought today charges the first payment now and the rest monthly, which puts the last payment around next May, months after the final regular-season Sunday in January. YouTube’s terms say installment payments are non-cancelable, so they continue even if your team is eliminated or you drop YouTube TV. If cash flow isn’t a problem, paying once is simpler and avoids a surprise charge in spring.
It happened once. On November 1, 2023, after Week 8 of its first season, YouTube roughly halved Sunday Ticket, to $174 for YouTube TV members. Nothing in this season’s posted terms promises a repeat, and waiting costs you every Sunday in between. If your team plays out of market and you want the next six weeks, buy now at the lowest price you qualify for. If you’re mostly curious about the late-season playoff chase, waiting a couple of weeks and checking the deals page is a reasonable gamble.
What Sunday Ticket Covers, and What It Doesn’t
Sunday Ticket is narrower than its name suggests. It carries out-of-market Sunday afternoon games. Everything else lives somewhere else, and most of it is already in your YouTube TV plan.
YouTube’s terms exclude locally broadcast Fox and CBS games, Sunday Night Football on NBC, Monday Night Football on ESPN and digital-only games, and some offers also exclude international games. Thursday night games stream on Amazon Prime Video and are not on YouTube. Preseason, postseason and holiday games such as Thanksgiving aren’t part of the package.
The league has also moved more games out of the Sunday afternoon window this season. Reporting from the spring counted a Wednesday opener, a Netflix game in Week 1, three Thanksgiving games, two on Black Friday, Saturday games in Weeks 15 through 18, and a record nine international games. Each one that leaves the Sunday afternoon slate is one fewer game in the package, which is why some longtime subscribers have argued it’s worth less than it used to be.
What you do get: every out-of-market Sunday afternoon game (more than 160 across the season), plus YouTube’s viewing features. This season those include custom multiview that can mix Sunday Ticket games with other channels and RedZone, unlimited DVR when watched in the YouTube TV app, and Key Plays to catch up on a game you joined late.
RedZone and NFL Network on YouTube TV
These two get confused with Sunday Ticket constantly. One is probably already in your plan, and the other is a separate monthly add-on.
ESPN closed its acquisition of NFL Network in February, along with rights to distribute RedZone, in a deal that gave the NFL an equity stake in ESPN. On YouTube TV, NFL Network comes with the main plan. If you can’t find it, check that you’re on the main plan rather than a narrower genre plan, then search the live guide for “NFL Network.” It carries many of this season’s international games.
RedZone, the channel that jumps between every game whenever a team gets inside the 20-yard line, is part of YouTube TV’s Sports Plus add-on at $10.99 a month. YouTube says you can add it at Sunday Ticket checkout or later from YouTube TV settings, and if you bought RedZone last season on an auto-renewing plan, you already have it. Retail bundles price Sunday Ticket with RedZone together; Best Buy lists $378 Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV as $420 with RedZone, a $42 difference.
Which Situation Sounds Like Yours?
Whether to add Sunday Ticket, and at which price, depends on where you live, who you root for and how you watch. These are the cases that come up most.
This is who Sunday Ticket is built for. A Packers fan in Phoenix or a Steelers fan in Seattle will see most of their team’s Sunday afternoon games only through the package. Count the remaining Sunday afternoon games your team plays that won’t be on your local CBS or Fox affiliate, then divide your price by that number. For a returning fan at $378, ten games is under $38 each.
Then Sunday Ticket won’t show your team’s Sunday afternoon games, because they’re on your local CBS or Fox station, which YouTube TV already gives you. Sunday and Monday night games are in the plan too. Unless you want to watch other teams all afternoon, or run a fantasy lineup across the league, skip it and consider RedZone instead.
RedZone may be all you need. At $10.99 a month through Sports Plus, it shows every touchdown and red-zone trip across the early and late windows, and you can cancel after the season. Sunday Ticket is worth adding only if you want full games, not highlights, from teams other than your local ones.
Before paying, search your email for a targeted offer; returning members have reported $234, $282 and $336 offers this season. Check whether you qualify for a verified discount (ID.me at $198 includes existing subscribers), whether you’re a Best Buy Plus or Total member ($234 through at least October 28), or a Verizon customer ($234, renewing at full retail). Some fans reported that switching off auto-renewal triggered a lower offer; YouTube doesn’t promise that, but checking costs nothing.
The Heroes plan at $198 is verified through ID.me and covers active military, veterans, first responders, the medical community and teachers. YouTube’s terms say it’s open to new and existing subscribers through December 31 and that existing subscribers auto-renew at $198. That makes it one of the best prices available to returning fans.
The student price of $119 is the lowest on the menu, with verification through SheerID. Student plans have historically been for individual viewing rather than whole-household use, so it’s not a workaround for a family account. If you’re a student who shares a parent’s YouTube TV, check whether the student offer can be applied there or needs your own account.
If you bought Sunday Ticket as a YouTube TV add-on, YouTube’s terms say you must keep the YouTube TV plan active to keep watching. Canceling YouTube TV mid-season means losing Sunday Ticket without a refund. After the regular season ends you can pause or cancel YouTube TV, but remember that installment payments on Sunday Ticket keep billing into spring regardless.
Sunday Ticket allows unlimited streams at home and 2 away from home, under YouTube’s terms. YouTube TV’s household rules still apply: family group members are meant to live in the same household and use the service from the home network periodically. A son at college or parents in another state may run into location checks, and the games they see depend on where they’re watching.
Residential Sunday Ticket can’t be shown in a commercial setting. YouTube’s terms point businesses to a separate license through Everpass Media. Showing a home subscription to customers risks losing the account and more.
Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV works away from home on up to two streams. Which games count as “local,” and so are blacked out, can change with where you’re watching; YouTube updates its availability maps each Wednesday. If you’ll be in your team’s home market, its game will be on the local CBS or Fox station instead.
Through YouTube TV or Through Regular YouTube?
Since you already pay for YouTube TV, this choice is mostly settled in your favor. It’s still worth knowing what the other route offers, especially if you’re tempted to drop YouTube TV after the season.
| Feature | Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV | Sunday Ticket on YouTube |
|---|---|---|
| Returning price | $378 (8 × $47.25) | $480 (8 × $60) |
| New-user price | $240 (8 × $30) | $240 (8 × $30) |
| Needs YouTube TV plan | Yes, must stay active | No |
| Local CBS/Fox, NBC, ESPN | In the same app | Need another source |
| DVR | Unlimited in the YouTube TV app | Check YouTube’s features |
| Multiview with other channels | Yes | Check before buying |
For a returning subscriber, buying through YouTube TV saves $102 on the season price, and it puts your local games, Sunday night, Monday night and Sunday Ticket in one place with one DVR. The trade-off is the dependency: an add-on purchase lives and dies with your YouTube TV membership for the season. If you are certain you’ll cancel YouTube TV before January, the standalone YouTube version is the only one that keeps working, but for most fans who already subscribe, that’s an expensive insurance policy against a decision they haven’t made yet.
A five-minute check before you click buy
- Count your team’s remaining out-of-market Sunday afternoon games. If the number is small, RedZone or nothing may be the better call.
- Search your inbox for “Sunday Ticket.” A targeted offer of $204, $234, $282 or $336 beats $378.
- Try the verified discounts. Students through SheerID, and military, teachers, first responders and medical workers through ID.me.
- Check partner deals you already qualify for. Best Buy Plus or Total and Verizon have both offered $234.
- Decide on renewal and RedZone before you leave the page. Turn off auto-renewal if you’re unsure about next season, and add Sports Plus only if you’ll actually watch it.

| Your team’s game is missing | It’s local, on CBS or Fox | Check your local channels | Confirm your location |
| No RedZone | Sports Plus not added | Settings → Membership → Sports Plus | Check last season’s plan |

Offers of a full season for $50, unofficial “IPTV” boxes and websites selling Sunday Ticket codes are not licensed and often take payment without delivering anything. Buy only through YouTube, YouTube TV or a named partner like Best Buy or Verizon, and report fake sellers to the FTC.
Our Verdict for YouTube TV Members
Your team is out of market, you want the remaining Sunday afternoon games, and you’ve checked for the lowest price you qualify for. Pay upfront unless you need the installments, and switch off auto-renewal if you don’t want next season billed automatically.
You’re being offered $378 in late October, you only care about a few games, or you plan to drop YouTube TV soon. At that price, each remaining Sunday costs over $30, and the money is gone if your plans change.
Your team is local, you mostly want highlights and touchdowns, or you need Thursday night games. YouTube TV already carries your local, Sunday night and Monday night games; RedZone covers the rest of the Sunday buzz for $10.99 a month.
