📖 What Do These Programs Do?

The “Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program” helps keep you safe. It provides cash grants to help pay your heating bills in the winter and cooling bills in the summer. It can also help pay for emergency repairs to your furnace or A/C.
This is a tax break specifically for homeowners. In many states, if you are over 65, you can “freeze” the value of your home for tax purposes, meaning your property taxes won’t go up even if your home’s value does.
